Scotians defeat Cumberland Blues

Action in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Sunday night saw the Pictou County Scotians maul the Cumberland County Blues 7-2.

In Trenton the Pictou County Scotians moved up two points on third place Strait Pirates but the Pirates have two games in hand.

The Scotians were led by Mitch Watters with a pair of tallies with singles going to Lucas Eshelman, Scott MacLean, Ben Crowell, Luc Lochead and Craig Matheson. Matheson also picked up a pair of assists.

Paul Gulliver and Zach Anderson answered for Cumberland who were outshot 59-34.

Ben Goss picked up the win for Pictou County  while Matt Caron was tagged with the loss.

The teams were tie at one after one; 5-1 Scotians after two with Pictou County adding 2 more in the third.
