Peewee A Selects swept in P.E.I.

PICTOU COUNTY - The Pictou County Subway Selects peewee A girls ended with a strong finish in the Sweetheart Tournament in P.E.I. this past weekend.

The Subway Selects tied the West-Kent DQ Blizzards 1-1 Saturday evening. Thea Waller scored the lone goal for the Selects. Ellen Coffin and Brody Paul received player of game honors.  

The peewee A had two other close match ups, but ended up losing 3-2 to Bedford Friday and 2-1 to North River. Goal scorers were Waller, Shalyn Bona for the Bedford matchup. Garyn Purvis scored in the North River game. Waller and Madison Bond got player of the game honours in the Bedford game and Purvis and Bond were picked as top players in the North River game.

The peewee A Subway Selects are heading into playoffs this weekend with a home-and-home series against the Glace Bay Miners.
