ALMA - The New Glasgow Junior High Lady Panthers won the 7th Annual Panther Challenge Basketball Tournament this weekend held at Northumberland Regional High School. The Panthers won their pool by first defeating West Hants 35-33.
Shalena Floyd lead the Panthers with 15 points and was selected player of the game, while Caitrin Skelton won the hustle award.
In the next game, the Panthers defeated Bible Hill 67-38. Floyd scored 15 points while player of the game, Riley Sood, scored 13 points. Hustle award winner Kaitlyn Biron chipped in with 11 points.
In the championship, New Glasgow defeated Springhill 46-35. Sood led the Panthers with 15 points and was selected player of the game, while Floyd and Skelton chipped in with 8 points each. Lucia MacKay was the hustle award winner.
Floyd, Skelton and Sood were selected as tournament all-stars.
