THORBURN – Recently the East Pictou Silver Blades returned from the Rob McCall Memorial Competition in Dartmouth where coaches were pleased with their skater’s results.
In primary both Raelene Fraser and Abby Cameron competed, finishing fifth and sixth respectively.
Introductory skaters Raquel Gerrior and Courtney Arnold finished in third and fifth, while Chantelle Ramsey and Katie Devine rounded out the Rob McCall competitors, finishing fifth and ninth in pre-preliminary.
Next week the club will travel to Port Hawkesbury for Star Skate March 1-3. The club is unsure exactly when they will be skating during those days, but are looking forward to having their skaters taking part in the event.
On top of preparing for Star Skate, the club is also preparing for their annual ice show, March 9 at the Ivor MacDonald Memorial Arena. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include CanSkate, Jumpstart, figure skaters and a special guest skater. This is an annual event, which is celebrating it’s 39th year this skating season.
