MacAulay remains undefeated at Dominion provincials

UPDATED: 11 p.m. Feb. 22 NEW GLASGOW - Friday three teams from the Bluenose Curling Club were in action throughout the province, all opening their respective tournaments with victories.

Wayne Sangtster and his team won 7-2 over Chris Smith at the Digby Curling Club, where the N.S. Dominion Men's Club Championship is being held. In their second game the team fell 7-6 to Mike Robinson from Dartmouth Curling Club. Sangster and his team won the championship last year. 

In the women's event being held in Wolfville, Marian MacAulay and her team defeated Kelly McCabe of 14 Wing Greenwood Curling Club 9-2 to open the event. In their second game they won a close match 9-8 over Lisa DePaoli from the Glooscap Curling Club. MacAulay is also the defending champion in her event. 

Rounding out local teams in action was Krista Nix at the N.S. under-18 championship being held in Chester and Bridgewater Curling Clubs. Nix defeated Breanna Huntley 10-3 to open the championship, last year the team finished fourth at the event.
