NEW GLASGOW - At the women's Dominion event taking place in Wolfville, Marion MacAulay started with a pair of wins, 9-2 over Kelly McCabe and 9-8 over Lisa DePaoli. The MacAulay remained undefeated, winning their third straight 8-5 over Karen David and her team from CFB Halifax.

MacAulay has now advanced to the playoff bracket at the event. She plays Meredith Harrison at 9 p.m. tonight to determine who has a bye to the finals. Both teams are 3-0 heading into the matchup. 

On Saturday morning Krista Nix and her team from the Bluenose Curling Club kept to their winning ways, defeating Cassie Cocks from Chester Curling Club 8-3 at the N.S. under-18 curling championships being played in Chester. Nix opened the event with a 10-3 win over Breanna Huntley.

The team's next game is 8 p.m. on Saturday against Mary Fey from the host club in Chester.

In the N.S. men's Dominion provincial championships Wanye Sangster fell to 1-2 this morning after a 6-3 loss to Charles DeBay from the Truro Curling Club. The loss also eliminated the defending champions from the event.
