WESTVILLE - In the first game of the night at the Westville Miners Sports Centre the Bestway Black Hawks beat the Highland Nissan Habs 7-3. Hawks goalie Clint Snell had a strong game for the win and added, "this was a huge two points for us but we have a lot more work to do in the next couple of weeks."

The trio of Chris MacDonald (2), Ricky Wright (2) and Jerry Austin (1) did most of the damage while Alan Leck and Chris Goyette picked up singles.

Scoring for the Habs in the losing cause were Brian Gratto, Cory MacKinnon and Chris Hatchard.

Habs player Matt MacLeod, who has been out all year due to lower body surgery, was at the game and was not impressed, "my team couldn’t put anything together out there tonight, their backs are against the wall now."

The second game of the night saw the red hot Acropole Blues pound Doc's Demons 8-0.

Blue's goal scorers were Jody Hamper (2),Allan Smith (2), John Behie, Greg Watters, Ken Gordon and Victor Melanson.

"We jumped on this wave and are trying to ride it out as far as we can," Greg Watters said after the win. "Things can change pretty quick in this hockey."

None of the Demons were available for comment as they locked the dressing room door after the loss.
