PICTOU COUNTY - One goal stopped the Pictou County peewee A Subway Selects from making it to provincials.

The peewee A girls defeated the Glace Bay Miners 3-1 during round-robin hockey action Saturday which tied the two teams in points for the series.

Garyn Purvis scored the first goal with assists by Kylie MacKenzie and Madison Bond.  Thea Waller netted the second with assists by Carly Smith and Charlotte Musick. MacKenzie scored the third with assists by Shaylyn Bona and Purvis.

The Subway Selects dominated the game with strong passes, good defensive work and solid goaltending by Victoria Dunn.
