Lady Nighthawks advance to provincials

ALMA - The Northumberland Lady Nighthawks hockey team advanced to provincials after defeating Dalbrae Academy 8-2 Friday afternoon in Port Hood.

Isobel Demont led the attack with three goals. Maddy Bourque, Lena MacDonald, Lyndsey Cheek, Emily MacDonald, and Marli Johnston rounded out the scoring. Shauna Wright and Johnston both had two assists, with singles by Anika Mason, Alex Henderson and Cheek.

Goalie Brittany Duff recorded an assist with a lovely stretch pass up through center to a streaking Demont. The girls will now attend provincials in Windsor March 25-27.
