BRIDGEWATER – The Pictou County Weeks Crushers downed the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks 5-2 on Sunday.
Andrew Graham led the Crushers with three goals, while Evan Carmody added two.
Carmody opened the scoring at 10:45 of the first period to give the Crushers a 1-0 lead. He scored again at 16:45 to pad their lead.
Shawn Boudreau scored at 2:06 of the second period to get the Lumberjacks within one, before Layton Parsons tied the game.
Graham scored the eventual game-winning goal at 11:08 to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. Graham added his final two goals in the third, just 33 seconds apart at 2:02 and 2:35.
The Crushers and Lumberjacks were both 1-for-3 on the power play.
Brandon Thibeau made 23 saves for the win, while Billy Clarke made 36 saves in the loss.
