ANTIGONISH - The North Nova Gryphons boy’s hockey team lost all of their games in the Millennium Challenge Cup in Antigonish this past weekend, which was hosted by the Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals.
On Thursday night the Gryphons fell 4-0 to the Lockview Dragons. Goaltender Joel MacLean was named the game MVP.
On Friday morning the Gryphons played their second city team of the tournament, the Citadel Phoenix, losing 4-0 again. Luke Grant was named MVP for the game.
They lost their third and final game of the tournament 5-2 on Friday afternoon against CEC. Chris Brooker had both goals for North Nova, while Darryl Wheadon was named MVP for the game.
Their next league game is Friday, Nov. 8 the Dalbrae Dragons. Puck drop is 8:30 p.m. at the Trenton Arena and admission is $4 per person or $2 for students and seniors.
They will also be holding a bottle drive Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The team will be going to Trenton, New Glasgow, Thorburn and surrounding areas. You can also drop your bottles off at NNEC during those hours or contact any member of the team for pick up.
