ANTIGONISH – This week the Northumberland Nighthawks boy’s hockey team travel to Port Hawkesbury on Wednesday before their home game Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Westville Sports Centre against Dalbrae.
They are currently coming off a win and two losses at the Millennium Challenge Cup hosted by J.H. Gillis in Antigonish over the weekend.
On Thursday they opened with a 5-2 win over the host J.H. Gillis Royals.
Scoring for the Nighthawks were Lance Emery, Reed MacDonald, Jordan Wheeler, Jeff Skinner and Ben Morrissey. Brennan Snell recorded the win between the pipes, while the player of the game was Noah Chisholm.
In their next game they fell 7-0 to Millwood, with Josh Langille being named the player of the game. Kyle MacKenzie took the loss in goal.
CP Allen defeated them 6-1 in their final game of the tournament. Scoring the Nighthawks lone goal was Ben Morrissey. He was also named the player of the game. Brennan Snell was back in goal for their final game.
