Halifax Rainmen's new head coach and former NBAer Craig Hodges speaks at the team's press conference at Scotia Square on Tuesday.

Former NBAer Craig Hodges has taken over the head coaching reigns for the Halifax Rainmen.

Team owner Andre Levingston made the announcement at Scotia Square on Tuesday morning with Hodges by his side.

Hodges, who spent 10 years playing in the NBA and several years as an NBA assistant coach, will travel with the team on Thursday as Halifax takes on the Saint John Mill Rats.

“I’m about trying to see what we have  and make sure what we have is good enough to win,” said Hodges, who will operate as the team’s interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

“It’s about staying in the moment. I’m not one to look to the past, I’m not one to look too far to the future. I’m looking at right now.”
