Verge and Goss lead Pictou to 4-0 Win Over Strait Pirates

The Pictou County Scotians

Sunday night in Trenton the Pictou County Scotians shutout the Strait Pirates 4-0 in the only game in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

With the win the Scotians now trail the second place Pirates by just 4 points with a game in hand.

Brandon Verge led the way for Pictou with 4 points on 2 goals and 2 assists to increase his league leading point totals to forty-four. Brad MacEachern also had a pair of markers while goaltender Ben Goss kicked out all 47 shots to pick up his 6th win and 2nd shutout of the year.

Shawn Jeffrey took the loss for the Pirates.

The Scotians led 2-0 after one; 3-0 after two before adding a single in the third.

Final shots were 47-37 Strait Pirates.
