The Pictou County Weeks Crushers edged the Yarmouth Jr A Mariners 5-4 in overtime Friday night in Yarmouth.
JP Harvey led the Crushers with one goal and two assists, while Nick Parker added two goals.
Evan Carmody opened the scoring at 11:01 to give the Crushers a 1-0 lead. Kyle Campbell scored at 16:32 to tie the game at 1-1 after the first period.
Parker scored at 5:19 to regain the lead for Pictou County at 2-1. Shawn Boudreau acored at 11:29 to even the score at 2-2 after the second period.
Parker (power play, second goal of game) scored at 2:09 to retake the lead for the Crushers at 3-2. Zack Henry scored at 4:54 to knot the game 3-3. Mitchell Deruelle (unassisted) scored at 11:16 to give Pictou County a 4-3 lead. Colin Campbell scored at 19:36 to deadlock the game at 4-4 and force extra time.

In overtime, Harvey (game winner) scored 47 seconds into the extra period for the win.
Pictou County went 1 for 2 on the powerplay while Yarmouth went 0 for 5.
Brandon Thibeau stopped 29 of 33 shots for the win while Anderson Snair stopped 20 of 25 shots in the loss.
