Peewee AAA Crushers return from Bill Chisholm Memorial Tournament

ANTIGONISH – This past weekend the Ballantyne Fuels peewee AAA Crushers showed they have what it takes to compete with the top teams in the province.  

They travelled to Antigonish to participate in the Bill Chisholm Memorial Tournament, opening with a 5-3 loss to the Truro Bearcats on Friday night

Scoring for the Crushers were Wayne Denny (2) and Spencer Creed. Connor MacLeod, Ben Callaghan and Luke MacLeod each earned an assist.

Keigan Walker was between the pipes, while Denny was named player of the game.

Saturday morning the Crushers defeated the Cape Breton West Screaming Eagles 4-1.

Picking up goals were Callaghan, Blake Kontuk, Joseph McCarron and Brayden MacDonald. Kade Mason, Connor MacLeod, Luke MacLeod, Nole Chapman, MacDonald, Denny and Cole Green picked up assists. 

Brayden LeBlanc earned the win in goal, while Brayden MacDonald was chosen as the player of the game.

In game three the squad faced a tough Acadia team, losing 4-0. Walker and LeBlanc shared goaltending duties. Luke MacLeod was named player of the game.

The Crushers see action next weekend when they travel to Cape Breton to participate in the MacDonald Gallagher Tournament.
