Gryphons struggle at Danny Dorrington tournament

WESTVILLE – The North Nova Gryphons boy’s hockey team struggled at the Danny Dorrington Memorial Tournament in Westville this past weekend, with five players out of the line up for the weekend. 

In their first game Friday morning against Antigonish, they were shutout 5-0. Chris Brooker was named the game MVP.

NNEC faced off against Dartmouth High on Friday evening, losing 4-2.

Darryl Wheadon scored both goals for the Gryphons with Connor MacDougall adding two assists. SIngle assists went to Jacob Pentz and Brandyn Benjamin. Wheadon was named MVP for the game. 

Saturday morning the Gryphons played Kings Edgehill, being shutout again, this time 5-0. Pentz was awarded the MVP honours.

The Gryphons next home game is Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Trenton Arena against SAERC at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, they travel to Port Hood for a 4 p.m. game against the Dalbrae Dragons.
