NEW GLASGOW – The Anchor Motors peewee AA Crushers faced Western Valley in their only game over the weekend, falling 4-3.
The Spartans jumped out to a quick two-goal lead and carried that score into the second period.
Midway through the second, the Crushers scored on the power play when Ethan MacDonald won the draw back to Lucas Leblanc for a slap shot that found the back of the net. The Crushers were barely done celebrating when the Spartans scored to restore their two-goal lead.
The Crushers scored another power play marker with only 28 seconds left in the second when Ben MacDonald converted a passing play from Spencer Murray and Brycen MacDonald.
Once again, the Spartans struck right back, with only five seconds left in the second.
The third period saw the Crushers score their third power play marker when Ben MacDonald scored his second of the game, assisted by Murray.
The Crushers could not find the equalizer as Western Valley won the game.
