Nighthawks boys drop Amherst, lose to J.H. Gillis

WESTVILLE – The Northumberland Regional High School boys split their two games last week.

On Thursday the boys travelled to Antigonish to play Dr. J.H. Gillis, losing 5-2 to the Royals.

Scoring for NRHS were Kyle Sutherland and Ben Morrissey. Assists went to Brandon Livingstone, Brandon Bell and Luke MacDonald.

Kyle MacKenzie took the loss in goal was in nets.

On Saturday in Westville the Nighthawks had a 4-3 win against Amherst. Scoring for NRHS were Bell, Dallas MacDonald, Morgan Peters and Josh Langille.

Jordan Wheeler, Jeff Skinner, Evan Ferguson, Ben Morrissey and Dallas MacDonald picked up assists, while Brennan Snell picked up the win between the pipes. 

Due to high school exams, the NRHS boys hockey team will not see a game again until Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Westville Arena against Dalbrae. Puck drop is 6 p.m.

Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students.
