Pictou County Scotians fall to Antigonish Bulldogs

Tuesday night in Antigonish the Antigonish Bulldogs won a 6-3 decision over the Pictou County Scotians


The win keeps the Bulldogs ahead of the Cumberland County Blues by three points in the run for the last Sid Rowe playoff position. The Bulldogs still have two games in hand.

Tuesday night at the Antigonish Arena overager Fraser White paced the Bulldogs with a natural hat trick in the first period plus picked up an assist to get the all-important win for the home team. Riley Cameron also scored in period one giving the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Shots in the period favoured the Scotians 12-11.

In the second the Scotians showed some spark picking up two power play goals to get to within two at 4-2 when Jason Thorpe and Brandon MacKenzie managed to pull the trigger for Pictou.

Shots in the period had the Bulldogs all over the Scotians at 11-3 despite giving up two goals.

In the third Brandon Verge, with his 29th, had the Scotians to within one at 4-3 before Mitch Getson and Tim MacDougall, with his 24th, iced the win for the Bulldogs.

Brandon MacDonald picked up the win for the Bulldogs while Mitch Donlevy was tagged with the loss.
