Locals track and field athletes have successful weekend

HALIFAX – Fifteen athletes from the Pictou County Athletics team participated in Athletics Nova Scotia's first indoor meet of the season at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax this past weekend. 

Results are listed below:

Female

60m - 14/15 - Olivia Pretty - 1st

300m - 16/17 - Erin Washburn - 3rd

600m - 16/17- Erin Washburn - 2nd

600m - 14/15 - Madison Murray - 1st

1500m - 16/17 - Lauren Quann - 2nd

High Jump - 16/17 - Lauren Quann - 1st

Shot Put - 14/15 - Tatum McLean - 1st

Weight Throw - 14/15 - Tatum McLean - 1st

The throwing events (shot put and weight throw) were held in the new Cougar Dome in Truro.

 

Male

1000m - 16/17- Scott Langille - 1st

1200m - 12/13 - Ethan MacDonald - 1st

3000m - 12/13- Ethan MacDonald - 1st

3000m - 16/17- Peter Corbin - 2nd

                         Scott Langille- 3rd

High Jump - 16/17 - Kaelan Schmidt - 1st

Triple Jump - 16/17 - Kaelan Schmidt - 1st

The following athletes also participated at the event, with all having top eight placings: Aldo Orsi, Michael Langille, Mack Moraze, Dakota Garneau, Brady Walsh and Alyssa MacNeil.
