Peewee B Goldenhawks go undefeated over the weekend

THORBURN – Thorburn’s peewee B squad went undefeated over the weekend in three playoff games and moved into first place in the North Nova Peewee B playoffs.

On Friday night they defeated the Northern Rebels 5-1 at the Wellness Centre, only surrendering eight shots in the game.

Goldenhawks goals were scored by: Brent Chabossol, Andrew Goswell, Adam Macdonald, Thomas Kennaley-Bayer and Josh Cooley. Assists went to Charlie MacLean, Kenyon Greene, Aaren MacDonald and Hayden Butler. Brandon Benoit was in goal for the win. The Rebels replied with a goal from Braydon Killen.

Saturday in Debert they defeated the Cobras 6-0.

Butler led the way with a first period hat-trick, before adding one more in the third. Jonah Pridham and Kennaley-Bayer rounded out the Goldenhawk scoring. Assists went to Grace Macdonald, Landen Guthro, Cooley, Ashley Livingston and John McGee.

At home Sunday they defeated the Canso Bluefins 7-2. MacLean had a hat-trick, Connor Dewar had a pair, while Cooley and Adam MacDonald had singles.

Assists went to Chabossol, Adam Macdonald, Pridham, McGee, Kenyon Greene and Grace MacDonald.
