Pictou County hosts Woodstock tonight in second straight home game
NEW GLASGOW – Put the puck on net and you will be rewarded – or at least the Weeks Crushers were tonight.
Winning 5-3 over the CJHL ranked No. 20 Dieppe Commandos, Pictou County continued to get back on track and the bounces started going their way.
It started midway through the first when Evan Carmody got his stick on a Cole Hutchinson point shot to tip the puck past Connor Wilkinson and give the Crushers a 1-0 lead.
Ryan Langan scored just over two minutes later to tie the game 1-1, which stood for the remainder of the first.
Early in the second Harrison Wood scored, beating Wilkinson clean as he went in on a two-on-one with Nick Parker.
Five minutes later JP Harvey increased their lead to two goals as he tried to centre the puck to Regan Spears, but the puck deflected off the skate of a Commandos defenceman and into the back of the net.
Spears would notch one himself with 2:17 remaining in the second, giving the Crushers a 4-1 lead after the second.
Colton Parsons gave the Commandos some life in the third notching a power play goal just five minutes into the final frame, cutting the lead to two, but Jordan McInnis scored his own power play goal for the Crushers with 6:09 remaining in the third to give them another three-goal lead.

Brandon Thibeau made 34 saves for the win, while Wilkinson made 32 in the loss.
