Midget A Crushers pick up four points in playoff games

NEW GLASGOW - The MacLeod Lorway midget A Crushers got all four possible points in weekend playoff action.

Pictou County traveled to Truro for a Friday night battle against the Bearcats.

 They rallied to earn a 3-2 victory over the Bearcats.

Corey Niven opened the scoring in the first period with an unassisted tally. Hayden Boutlier put the Crushers up by two goals in the second. The Bearcats came back to tie the gam, but Boutlier scored the winner on a one-time feed from Gerry Holle with three minutes left in the game.

Kieran MacGillvray picked up the win in goal.

Sunday 

the Crushers hosted the Brookfield Elks at the Wellness Centre, coming away with a 3-1 victory. Noah Delorey (2) and Cale McCarron scored for Pictou County. Assists went to Bailey Campbell, Holle, Justin Walsh, Boutlier and Matt MacLean.

Steven Conway earned the win between the pipes.

The Crushers now sit atop the playoff standings with two weeks remaining in playoff action to determine the teams that advance to regional final.
