NEW GLASGOW – Weekend action saw the Pictou County peewee A Crushers play two local games, relying heavily on the goaltending tandem of Aiden Robinson and Wesley Kelley as the offence has been struggling to score goals.

Saturday at home at the Wellness Centre the boys took on the Brookfield Elks and squeaked out a 2-1 victory on goals by Duncan Cameron and Bailey Pye. Assisting on the goals were Ian MacDonald and Owen Baird.

Sunday morning the Crushers faithful travelled to Truro to take on the league leading Bearcats. Truro skated out to a 3-0 lead after two periods and scored again early in the third before the Crushers scored two quick goals to attempt the comeback. A late goal by Truro sent the boys packing, losing 5-2.

Scoring for the Crushers were Luke Young and Ian MacDonald with assists going to Blake Fraser, Brody Bowering, Evan Reynolds and Pye.

The Crushers will get their chance to bounce back this coming weekend as they play the same two teams in back-to-back home games.
