AMHERST – The Pictou County Weeks junior A Crushers defeated the Amherst Ramblers 4-3 on Saturday night on the road.
They improved their season series record against their division rivals to 4-1-1 with the win.
Evan Carmody led the Crushers with two goals, while Jordan McInnis added a goal and an assist. Brock Morrison and Cam McDonald led the Ramblers with one goal and one assist each.
Carmody opened the scoring at 3:18 to give the Crushers a 1-0 lead. Daniel Walsh scored at 8:42 to tie the game at 1-1. McDonald scored at 19:58 to give the Ramblers a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Morrison scored 56 seconds into the second to extend the lead to 3-1. McInnis scored at 8:45 to cut the lead to 3-2. Carmody scored at 17:38 to even the score at 3-3 after the second period.
Mitchell Deruelle (game winner) scored at 13:48 for the win.
The Crushers were 0 for 3 on the power play, while Amherst went 0 for 1.
Devan Tremblay made 48 saves in the win. Richard Tingley stopped 40 in the loss.
