ANTIGONISH – Despite being outplayed by the Halifax Hawks for most of the game on Sunday at the Keating Millennium Centre, the Antigonish female midget AA Bulldogs came out on top with a 2-1 victory.
Halifax was carrying a 1-0 lead into the third period before Antigonish got on the scoreboard with a goal by Katelyn Dunn of New Glasgow, scored off a shot from Caralena Tracey that came off the backboards with three minutes left in the game. Shauna Campbell then scored the game winner on a power play during the last 30 seconds. Campbell poked in the loose puck during a scramble in front of the net, assisted by Jodie MacDougall.
Goaltender Nicole Grace held the team in the game until they were able to find the back of the net.
