Peewee AA Crushers win pair, tie

NEW GLASGOW – The Anchor Motors peewee AA Crushers had three games last week, winning twice and tying once.

Thursday evening, playing the Antigonish Bulldogs at the Keating Millennium Centre, the Crushers won 3-2. 

Scoring for Pictou County were: Raymond Chisholm, Kyle Reim and Spencer Murray. Assists went to Jansen Langille and Murray.

Cody MacDougall picked up the win in goal for the Crushers.

On Saturday the Crushers hosted the West Hants Warriors, picking up a 6-2 victory.  

Murray (2), Jayden Hatchard, Langille and Ben MacDonald (2) all scored in Saturday’s win.

Lucas Fraser, Cal Maxner (2), Ethan MacDonald, Chisholm, Murray (2), Reim, Dylon Francis and Logan MacKay all had assists, while Vaughn MacEachern picked up the win in goal.

In Windsor for a rematch with the Warrior on Sunday the Crushers tied 2-2.

MacKay tied the game before the end of the first period, with assists going to Brycen MacDonald and Hatchard.

In the second period, with the Crushers killing a penalty, Murray beat the Warrior defenseman to the puck and scored on the breakaway. The Warriors would tie the game 88 seconds later, where the game eventually ended. MacDougall was between the pipes for Pictou County.
