ALMA – The Nighthawk u-13 girl’s volleyball team, which competes at the u-14 level, played will in their past two tournaments.
On Feb. 7-8 in Halifax they went 4-6 over the weekend, losing in the semifinal.
Last weekend they travelled to Bridgewater for a 20-team u-14 tournament, where they went 4-4 in pool play to finish third in their pool. Their 4-4 record dropped them to the consolation playoffs.
In the consolation round they defeated the Bedford Blues 2-0, Dartmouth Volleyball Club 2-1 and lost to the Antigonish Storm 25-18 and 25-22 in consolation final.
They have five more tournaments before u-13 provincials at the end of April.
In other Nighthawk club action, locals Arianna Gammon and Jamie Crocket led Truro’s Lynx team, which is a combination of players from Pictou County and Truro, to the u-17 championship game at the Feb. 7-8 tournament in Halifax.
