Wednesday night in Trenton the Strait Pirates downed the Pictou County Scotians 4-1 to regain their best-of-seven Sid Rowe semifinal two games to one.

Halfway through the opening the Scotians took a 1-0 lead when Brandon MacKenzie finished from Craig Matheson and Keenan Lima on the power play. Four minutes later Gavyn Helle had the Pirates tied at one from Matt Papineau and Nathan Hayes.
Shots in the period favoured Pictou 16-9 but Pirates’ goaltender Keagan Butler was able to hold the damage to one.
In the second the Pirates went up 2-1 when Matt Papineau scored the only goal of the period from Kirk Bernard. Shots favoured the Pirates 20-14 for a 2-period total 30-29 Pictou.
In the third the Pirates struck for a power play goal by Morgan Timmons then an empty netter from Dale MacIntosh. MacIntosh also drew an assist.
Keagan Butler picked up the win handling 49 of 50 shots while Spencer Scott took the loss on 40 shots.
With the win the Pirates now lead their Sid Rowe Divisional semifinal 2-1 with game four Friday night in Port Hawkesbury.
