Brannen ready to battle MacGregor

NEW GLASGOW - John Brannen hasn't picked up a tennis racket in, well, never. But he is preparing to take Ann MacGregor to court. 

On May 4, the local media celebrities will play to help celebrate the opening of the tennis season. 

The kickoff event marking the opening of the West Side Tennis Courts will be from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the courts at 187 Lavinia Street, New Glasgow. The West Side Community Centre will also be hosting a fundraising BBQ during the event.

New Glasgow’s Community Development Department will  offer free tennis for the month of May, starting May 5 and running until May 31.

Scott Graham, Tennis Canada Certified Level One Tennis Instructor and National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Certified Coach, will be offering free instruction classes at the New Glasgow West Side Tennis Courts for youth grades primary and up (Saturday mornings), as well as adult classes (Wednesday evenings).
