Nova North peewee Stars pose with their medal and league trophy after defeating the TASA Flames 3-2 in their league championship game on Sunday in Sackville. 

The Nova North peewee Stars defeated the TASA Flames 3-2 on Sunday in Sackville to win the Atlantic Hockey Group Spring Hockey championship.

They took a 2-0 lead after the first period with goals by Ian MacDonald and player of the game Keegan Murray. The Flames tied the game in the second period, but Brycen MacDonald’s unassisted marker put the Stars ahead with the eventual game-winning goal before the period concluded.

Assists in the game went to Clark Robertson and Ryan Farrell.

The Stars made their way to the final by defeating the Bedford Wild 4-2 in early morning semifinal action.

Blake Fraser scored in the first period, assisted by Munro MacKay and Dylon Francis. The Stars took a 2-0 lead after Ian MacDonald scored, assisted by Broden DeCoff and Robertson.

Robertson then scored the game-winning goal unassisted. Munro MacKay scored the final tally in the third, assisted by Bailey MacKay.

Their spring league record was 8-1-3.
