MONCTON – Recently the Nova North Storm novice super seven team won the Atlantic Cup in Moncton, going 3-1 with 30 goals for and 14 against.
They opened the weekend with a 13-1 victory over the Fredericton Junior Tommies.
Owen Conrad, Ethan MacKay and Kingsley Austin all had hat tricks in the win, while Derrick MacKay and Lane Sim each scored twice.
Picking up assists were: Ethan MacKay (4), Derrick MacKay (3), Conrad (3), Sim (2), Evan Crosby (2), Austin and MacDonald.
Conrad was named the game MVP.
They defeated the Nord-Ouest Lynx 10-5 in their next game.
Austin, Derrick MacKay, Ethan MacKay and Conrad all scored twice, while Elliot Mullen and Sim added a goal apiece. Conrad added four assists, Ethan MacKay had two, with Sim and Cole Miller each receiving one.
The game MVP award went to Derrick MacKay.
Their third game resulted in a 4-2 loss to the West Kent Huskies. Conrad and Sim scored the Storm goals, while Austin had the lone assist. Kaden Gloade was named the game MVP for his play between the pipes.
In the final the Storm edged the Acadie-Chaleur Titans 5-4, with Austin leading the team offensively with three goals. Ethan and Derrick MacKay each scored once in the win.
Earning assists in the final game were: Sim (2), Conrad (2), Griffin Horton, Ben Poehl, Miller and Haden Rogers.
Austin was named the game MVP, while Gloade and Alex Palmer split time in goal throughout the tournament.
