PICTOU - Highland Tennis Association has announced that its new tennis courts are complete and will likely be open to the public this weekend.

“We are ecstatic,” said club president Rob McDowell. “It has been four years of hard work by a dedicated group of people. It certainly was a grassroots effort, aided by generous support from local citizens, local companies, the Province of Nova Scotia and the Town of Pictou.”

The club is still in fundraising mode, as it requires funds for operations. They have two instructors hired and will be holding summer programming for youth and adults. They also are in need of some equipment to start out.

Usage will be by membership. Registration forms are currently available at Pictou Recreation.
