Blizzards take two of three over the weekend

NEW GLASGOW – The New Glasgow Kinsmen Dairy Queen Blizzards peewee baseball team took two out of three games on the weekend.

The Blizzards defeated Springhill 23-13 in the first game, with Braydon Killen, Nick MacInnis and Luke Young sharing pitching duties. Their top batters were: Jordan Tran with a double and a single, Sam Hickey and Nolan Manning each with two singles, and Young with a double. 

In the second game New Glasgow came back from a 9-1 deficit to defeat Halifax 21-11. Nolan Manning and Ray Lowe-Chisholm combined for the win on the mound. Tran cleared the bases with a home run to lead the offence. Lowe-Chisholm had three singles, Jayden Hatchard had two singles and a double, Young had two singles and a triple, Hickey had two singles and a double, Scott Long had a single and a double, while MacInnis added a double.  

New Glasgow lost the third game to Halifax 16-7. Tran again smashed a three-run home run to lead the offence. Lowe-Chisholm added two singles, while Nick Horne, Hatchard, Young, Long and MacInnis all added singles.
