NEW GLASGOW - It's moving day for some rinks at the 2008 Sobeys Slam. For others, it's time to head home.
Three more rinks were eliminated from contention at Slam in New Glasgow on Saturday morning, as Janet McGhee, Andrea Kelly and Amber Holland all went down to defeat in action at the Bluenose Curling Club.
Marie France Larouche defeated Holland 8-5; Cathy King beat McGhee 10-6 and Carrie Linder nipped Kelly 6-5.
At John Brother MacDonald Stadium, Saskatchewan's Stefanie Lawton cruised over P.E.I.'s Suzanne Birt 9-2; Sherry Middaugh defeated PE.I.'s upstart Donna Butler 7-4; Heather Rankin outlasted Crystal Webster 8-5 and Heather Strong got by Julie Reddick 4-3.
Action continues at noon today with Draw 11.
