ST. STEPHEN, N.B. - A New Brunswick woman has pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death for the slaying of her newborn boy in January.
Earlier this year, Sarah Russell was charged with manslaughter, accessory after the fact and disposing the body of a newborn.
But those charges were dropped today and Russell pleaded guilty to the new charge of criminal negligence causing death.
Her boyfriend, Rodney Miller, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder for fatally stabbing the child.
He was given an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
Russell's case is due back in court in St. Stephen on Friday.
