TRENTON - The Pictou County Jr. B Scotians are in Springhill today to play the league leading Cumberland Blues.
"It's another test for us," says head coach George Frazee. "We're going to be running short staffed, but hopefully we'll persevere."
The team will be short about five players who are unable to make the game due to work and school commitments, Frazee said.
It will be crucial for the guys to stay out of the penalty box if they want to win this game, Frazee said.
"Our players have a tendency to get emotional," he said. "We've got to stay away from that and just focus on ourselves and look at the job at hand."
With only five games remaining until the playoffs, the coach said he hopes his team can get on a high and ride it until the end of the season to secure second spot in the league.
"They have to step up and get into the right frame of mind," he said. "Playing playoffs you've got to be mentally prepared."
He is confident his team can do well in the playoffs.
"Hopefully we'll repeat into the finals again," he said. "That's our goal."
There will be no home Scotians game this Sunday in Trenton because of the Superbowl.
"The whole league shuts down for that because it's hard to get the people and fans out," Frazee said.
