Down 2-0 after the first period the Weeks Jr. A Crushers came back to defeat the Bridgewater Lumberjacks 4-2 last night.
"We started out fairly slow," said assistant captain Trent MacDonald.
But then in the second and third they fought hard to tie the game, take the lead and win.
"We just found our focus more," MacDonald said.
This close to the playoffs the win was crucial.
"That was huge for us," MacDonald said.
Before tonight's game, the Crushers were only leading the Lumberjacks by five points in the league standings.
"We've got to start to put distance between us," he said.
After losing their last three games, head coach Troy Dumville said he was pleased to see his team finally win again.
"The guys played a fairly complete game," he said.
While the tendency is to start panicking when you get down like the Crushers did in the first, Dumville said he was pleased to see his guys keep their cool.
"The guys were never down tonight," he said.
Geoff Hum scored twice in last night's game and Sean Hoyt and Michael Hynes added singles for the win.
This Saturday the Crushers will be hosting the Dieppe Commandos at the John Brother MacDonald Stadium. In their last game with the team, the Crushers lost 4-2.
As a former coach for the Commandos, Dumville said it was frustrating to give Dieppe their first win of 2010. He's hoping for a little revenge this weekend.
"We've got to step it up and play a big game against them Saturday," he said.
"Right now we want to get better every game. We've got to cut down on the mistakes."

Chance, why do you bother posting? The crushers could win the rbc and you would still whine and complain, methinks you or a family member are a jilted hopeful , who didnt make the cut. Are these the same Scotians who lost a 1000 games in a row after flying out of the gate? Jr b is where boys that arent good enough for jr a go. Like saying an NHL team would lose to an AHL team. The crushers are comfortably in 2nd place in their division, while the scotians are 4th in theirs. Scotians cant even ' wreck ' teams in their own league..hahahaha

Also Collier stopped 33 of 35 shots for a .942 sv % and Wright stopped 46/50 for .920 sv %. So if you are gonna make stuff up at least make it so it cant be proven wrong. Lets strap the pads on you. See how you make out.
