    I'm sure another week or two won't hurt....

    For your sake, I really hope that you are right. As a parent, I'm not willing to take that chance!
    I felt a sense of relief to see the huge lineups. I am so glad that people are aware of the seriousness of this and anxious to help protect themselves and their families as soon as possible.

    By the way....I don't see anyone complaining....just commenting! There's a difference....

    People should be checking out research. There was a big scare for H1N1 in 1976 and the US was telling everyone to get the shot. Result; people with neurological damage, paralysis and more. Check out vintage 60 Minutes . I wonder what they will be trying to push for a vaccine in another few years ???

    Anyone know what happened to the lady lying on the street at the flu clinic in Westville today? The ambulance was there for quite some time. Just wondering if she is ok.

    A lot of what we injest in this day and age contains things we should not, just take a look at processed food stuff. What the flu shot contains is in such small dosage as not to be of any harm. our body needs what is known as trace elements which if taken in large dosage are extremely toxic. as for things like mercury, every time you turn on a light and it burns coal you are causing mercury to be put into the enviroment. those sprays which you use to suppress wetness contain aluminum in the form of aluminum chlorohydride. Even vitamins taken as healthy supplements if taken in too higfh a dosage are toxic. folks use a little common sense.

    To all the knuckleheads heads who won't be getting the shot, when the shortness of breath begins and you start suffocating, don't bother going to the hospital for the use of a ventilator, let the child of a knucklehead use the ventilator because they were not old enough to make their own decision. For everyone else getting the shot patience is a virtue.

    There is a difference between the reg flu and the Swine...the H1N1 is a RESPIRATORY VIRUS....and yes people do It's as Simple as this...If you want it get it, and don't harp on those who don't...if you don't get it, stop fear mongering the ones who choose to do so.....I for one believe the risk of getting the swine flu is so much higher than effects from the vaccine..so my family and I are getting the vaccine, but I do not and will not say anything about the ones who choose not too, it is THEIR choice. However, people must be vigilant and STAY HOME if they have any flu symptoms, WASH your hands ALL the time, and PLEASE for GOD SAKES, COVER your mouths when you cough and sneeze..COMMON SENSE!!! STAY HEALTHY :)

    Ha ha ....I guess your name is STUPID Flanders for a reason! :-)
    Seriously though .... I would much rather deal with any possible complications of the shot vs. contracting H1N1. God forbid we opted NOT to vaccinate our child....and the worst thing happened...they died! How would you ever look at yourself in the mirror?!

    I was outside in line for an hous prior to the doors opening and another two hours inside. I say thank you to all involved as what is three hours compared to a life time if you do not get the shot and die. i too am unable to stand for a long period of time and should have taken a folding chair. please fols dress warmly and especially with good warm shoes or boots and if possible take some rain protection. take car all and protect yourself and others by getting the H1N1 shot. be wise and immunize.

    Its not just a flu shot...I get the flu shot every year. People forget how many people died from the current flu shot back in the 80's before they perfected it....short memories!!

    just wondering how come people don't line up like that every year for the flu vaccine???? they don't get all hyped up and worried when the flu comes around every year. isn't it just pretty much another strain of the flu? yes this is just my opinion. and if you are sick people, just stay home and rest, wash your hands, and cover your coughs. my opinion again: people are now over vaccinated.

    the vaccine is approved in canada and that is all that matters! who cares about the us?? everyone has their own opinion about this shot! if it is the matter of living with side effects or dying, i would choose life! everything has potential side effects to it and everyone reacts differently to flu shots and any other drug or vaccine for that matter!

    i think it would be a great idea if our goverment hired a few more nurses to go around all the schools in nova scotia to give all the studends and staff the needles may be less of a line up and waiting time

    OK, so I found the information I was looking for.

    Do you know what they put in Flue Shots.

    A couple of websites for people to check out -

    http://drbenkim.com/flu-shot-ingredients-dangers.htm

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillain%E2%80%93Barr%C3%A9_syndrome

    http://drbenkim.com/articles-flu.html

    And, in the last one, I especially like the part where he says:

    Do you want any of the following typical vaccine constituents injected into YOUR bloodstream?

    * Ethylene glycol (antifreeze)
    * Phenol, also known as carbolic acid (this is used as a disinfectant, dye)
    * Formaldehyde, a known cancer-causing agent
    * Aluminum, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease and seizures and also cancer producing in laboratory mice (it is used as an additive to promote antibody response)
    * Thimerosal (used as a mercury disinfectant/preservative) can result in brain injury and autoimmune disease
    * Neomycin and Streptomycin (used as antibiotics) have caused allergic reaction in some people.

    Do you still want to get you and your children a flu-shot??

    It almost seems like people WANT to complain about the length of time they had to wait to get their shots - they go as soon as the vaccine is available, when everybody knows it's going to be super busy. Any logical person would realize that there are going to be ridiculous lineups at first. If you've waited this long to get a shot, I'm sure another week or two won't hurt, and the lines will be a lot shorter.

    Going to get the shot

    Everyone has a decision to make regarding this vaccine, and it is their personal choice. Now me, my family and I are getting the vaccine for our own personal reasons--the main reason being that the virus is attacking HEALTHY children.
    The one thing in this whole situation I cannot understand is why each Town, City or Municiapality cannot be getting the shots at the same time instead of here, there and everywhere at various times. This would certainly ease up on the wait times as many people are travelling from other areas to get this shot. It's not as if there aren't enough people to be giving the shots.

    Hi Rachel from NS,
    I think your thinking about waiting for the flu shot is unrealistic as the elderley, chronically ill, small children should be getting this vaccine like 2 weeks ago... what's another 2 weeks of waiting??? Seriously!! That 2 weeks could mean someone's child dies from this illness! I have a 2 year old and she is unable to wait in these line ups... so what you're saying is disrespectful on many levels!

    If you anticipate a long lineup and you can't stand for long periods you could always bring a folding chair. (I'm not being sarcastic, it would beat standing for a long time)
