NEW GLASGOW – The Pictou County Weeks Junior ‘A’ Crushers find themselves in a position to eliminate the Truro Bearcats in their Bent Division final tonight.
Following a 4-2 win in Truro Saturday night, the Crushers lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. If they’re to finish the ‘Cats off, they’re going to need to keep the Bearcats from capitalizing on chances early in the game and match the team in intensity, said head coach Troy Dumville.
“Right now we’re playing at a really good level,” he said. “We know that the hardest game to win in a series is the last one. If we’re going to win it will be through pure heart, emotion and determination.”
Truro isn’t going down without a fight though.
“If you look at the periods we lost during this series, it’s the ones where we tried to match them in skill,” Dumville said.
“We’re not relying on top scoring MVPS. We’ve using four lines with six (defencemen), so everyone’s contributing.”
Game time tonight at John Brother MacDonald Stadium is 7:30 p.m.
