NEW?GLASGOW - A wrestling show in New Glasgow tonight will help to raise money for a local child who was born blind.
Main Stream Wrestling Entertainment will donate the proceeds from the 50/50 draw at the show tonight to Luke's Flight For Sight, which is raising funds to help offset the costs of Luke Holley-Reddick's trip to China to undergo stem cell therapy and hopefully restore his vision.
Wrestling promoter Devin Chittick said that when he heard about Luke's situation, he wanted to do something to help.
"I found out about it and thought it was one of the most amazing things I've ever heard of," Chittick said.
He's hoping to raise several hundred dollars to help Luke's family with the costs associated with the treatment and trip through the sale of 50/50 tickets. It's possible, he added, that the group will do another fundraiser for Luke at its ninth anniversary show in October.
The show will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 on Provost Street, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m.
