Bernard eliminated at Slam

American Patti Lank eliminated Alberta's Cheryl Bernard 6-2 in Saturday afternoon's Draw 10. Also, Ontario's Alison Goring eliminated Quebec's Eve Belisle 7-4; Krista McCarville's Thunder Bay rink continued their resurgence with a 6-5 win over Sylvie Robichaud; and Karen Porritt continued to roll with a 5-4 win over Karri-Lee Grant. Porritt's rink eliminated top seed Sherry Middaugh yesterday.

At 4 p.m., the 'B' bracket finals go at John Brother MacDonald Stadium. Alberta's Heather Rankin meets Saskatchewan's Stefanie Lawton in one match, while Ontario's Sherry Middaugh plays Newfoundland's Heather Strong to decide the two quarterfinal positions. World champion Jennifer Jones will also be on the ice in a must-win game against Julie Reddick.

The final four quarterfinalists will be decided on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at the John Brother MacDonald Stadium.
