AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Detroit Pistons guard Ben Gordon missed Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers and it's uncertain when he'll return from a left ankle sprain.
Gordon turned his ankle before halftime of Wednesday's 98-88 loss to Cleveland and did not return. Coach John Kuester said he wasn't sure how long the injury would sideline the six-year veteran, who began the night tied for 16th among NBA scorers with 19.8 points per game.
Gordon signed a US$55-million, five-year contract last summer after starring for the Chicago Bulls in his first five seasons. Rookie Austin Daye made his first career start in his place.
The banged-up Pistons have had starting forwards Richard Hamilton (right ankle) and Tayshaun Prince (back) on the court for a combined four games this season.
