Unbeaten at Christmas tournament

WESTVILLE - The NRHS Nighthawks girls hockey club is off to a good start at the 6th annual Christmas tournament in Westville.
The Nighthawks powered their way to a 6-0 shutout of the Memorial Mystics Friday night, with goaltender Lisa White backstopping her club to the win.
Alicia Guthro had two goals to lead the 'Hawks, Margaret Sutherland, Blayre Turnbull, Ruthanna O'Brien and Tara Avery also had goals.
That upped their record to 2-0 heading into games today.
White wasn't very busy as the Nighthawks controlled the play over the visitors from Sydney Mines.
In NRHS's first game of the tournament, Celine Morais fired a pair of goals as the 'Hawks doubled Dalbrae 4-2. Emily MacKay and Kayleigh Nichol also tallied for NRHS.
In early tournament play early Friday, Cole Harbour beat Inverness 4-2; C.P. Allen knocked off Memorial 9-2; and Auburn Drive blanked North Nova Education Centre 6-0. Katelyn Lewis was MVP for NNEC in that game.
The Gryphons got on the winning track Friday night, when they beat Cole Harbour 3-2. Lyndsay Oakes had a pair of goals for NNEC, who play Inverness at 10:30 a.m. today in their final round robin game.
The Nighthawks have a 9 a.m. game against C.P. Allen. Cossovers in the tournament are at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. tonight.
