ALMA – For girls looking to play school soccer at Northumberland High School they should dust of their cleats before next week.

On Monday, Aug. 25 and Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 4 p.m. the Nighthawks will hold their annual rookie camp and orientation camp for players entering Grade 9 or those new to the school soccer program.

The camp will take place at the school in Alma.

After those sessions they will hold their training camp and tryouts beginning on Aug. 28 at 8 a.m. To start the camp there will be registration, payment of tryout fees ($10) and a full training session, including a fitness test. All female soccer players that will be full-time students at NRHS from Grades 9-12 are welcome to attend the training camp.

The camp will continue on Friday, Aug. 28 from 8-10 a.m. and Monday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.

NRHS has three programs for soccer players if the numbers allow. Those include varsity, junior varsity and a Grade 9 team. For further information email Bob Boardway at
