TRENTON - Two families have already moved into Trenton's newest sub-division and the developer is optimistic there will soon be more.
Rob Roy, spokesman for Forest Grove sub-division, said since going on the market mid-summer, 25 per cent of the lots offered in the project's first stage have been sold.
"There are now a couple of houses there, two families are living there, and two other lots have been sold," said Roy.
He said 16 lots were offered in the project's first stage.
The first home in the sub-division was constructed in early 2009, and the second family to build a home arrived in September.
The lots available in the first stage all border existing streets, so no access roads have been constructed through the sub-division.
Roy said the land has not been cleared of greenery giving the purchasers a choice to customize the property to their needs by selecting what trees or shrubbery they would like to keep rooted.
"We'll try to keep the land as natural as possible," he said.
He describes it as creating a country setting in an urban environment.
The sub-division project will roll out in four stages, so at the conclusion will include 125 lots, located off Park Road, across the street from Trenton Park.
Roy said a number of age groups, from seniors to young families, have shown interest in the sub-division and he is optimistic interest will continue to grow.
"Obviously people who have some connection to Trenton have been a little more prominent," he said.
He anticipates stage two of the development project will start in 2010.
