Draw 2 of the Sobeys Slam in New Glasgow didn't have any major surprises. Top-seeded Jennifer Jones from Winnipeg defeated the bottom-seed, Halifax's Sarah Rhyno by a score of 9-3.
The ladies from Quebec played strong, with Marie-France Larouche beating Olympic bronze medalist Shannon Kleibrink 7-4 with a steal for 3 in the fourth end. Eve Belisle, also from Quebec, came out victorious over Colleen Jones' cross-country rink 5-3.
Alberta's Heather Rankin conquered Winnipeg's Kristy Jenion, who shook hand after a 2 point steal by Rankin in the sixth end that brought the score to 10 - 1.
Based on this morning's draws, an interesting match-up this evening should be Sherry Middaugh against Colleen Jones. Also, Marie Christianson will have her hands full with the Cheryl Bernard rink, but coming off of this morning's ninth end win over Cassie Potter, Christianson just may pull it off.
