MONTREAL - Canada's Milos Raonic beat France's Michael Llodra on Sunday to claim one of the final seven spots of the main draw of the Rogers Cup tennis tournament at Uniprix Stadium.
Raonic, from Thornhill, Ont., defeated 11th-seed Llodra 6-4 7-6 (3).
Ottawa-born Jesse Levine, who represents the United States, qualified with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win over third-seeded Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan.
Former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain qualified when opponent Ivan Dodig of Croatia retired.
Other qualifiers were Julien Benneteau of France, Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic, Alejandro Falla of Colombia and American Alex Bogomolov Jr.
The main draw begins Monday.
