The Pictou County-based law firm of MacIntosh, MacDonnell & MacDonald (Mac, Mac & Mac) is adding another “Mac” to its ranks.

Effective April 1, Pictou lawyer Ian H. MacLean, Q.C. and his staff at MacLean & MacDonald will join the team of Mac, Mac & Mac in delivering legal services to clients on both sides of the Pictou Causeway, according to a release from Mac, Mac & Mac.

MacLean described the relationship as a natural fit and emphasized that it will primarily be “business as usual” at the Pictou office where he has practised for the past four decades.

“My day-to-day work with clients will remain as it always has. I will continue my existing practice, but now I will be able to offer clients easy access to an even wider range of legal services.”

MacLean is confident that clients will benefit from this new relationship.

“I have worked with the lawyers at Mac, Mac & Mac for many years. I know they deliver quality legal advice, whether they’re dealing with a large or small matter, for a large or small client. The real benefit: I’ll be able to offer my clients additional services, still delivered here in our Pictou office, with the same style and approach they’ve come to expect from MacLean & MacDonald.”

Mac, Mac & Mac’s managing partner, Gerald Green, said the perfect opportunity presented itself.

“Ian has long been recognized as one of our province’s leading real estate practitioners. He has an incredibly busy practice as a result of that well-earned reputation. By joining with Mac, Mac & Mac, Ian will be able to keep the full-time focus on his clients, while we provide some legal and administrative support.”

Several of Mac, Mac & Mac’s lawyers and staff reside in the Pictou area and will be able to work closer to home.

“We are always looking for ways to expand service to our clients in the Pictou area,” said Green, who explained that some Mac, Mac & Mac’s lawyers would work out of the Pictou office each week. Joel Sellers (real estate), Mary Jane Saunders (wills and estates) and Heather MacDonald (corporate commercial) will be available to meet with clients in Pictou on a weekly basis. Other Mac, Mac & Mac lawyers will be accessible in Pictou as needed.
